strong>PM to clarify top BJP leaders on talk status with Pakistan: August 7, 2013, News n Analysis by Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist, on the issue of proposed talks with Pakistan in view of a sudden violation of LOC Killings, in which 5 jawans were reported killed and that took both the houses by storm. What would you like to say about it?
In wake of the attacking news on India by Pakistan, in which 5 Indian Jawans were killed, the Prime Minister invited BJP parliamentary party chairman L K Advani, along with Party President Rajnath Singh among other Leaders of Opposition to explain the factual position and to give his view on talks with Pakistan. The meeting is also likely to be attended by Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley among others.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh shall explain in detail the circumstances leading to the incident and the status of talks with Pakistan. External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid and National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon are also likely to be present in the meet.
In response to cancel the talks with Pakistan as demanded by BJP and others on Tuesday, Mr. Singh shall try to explain to the opposition leaders, particularly BJP, that the talks with Pakistan might not be dropped at this stage with Pakistan’s new Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the situation being different and not the one as being visualized.
The meeting has already been fixed with Pak PM Sharif and is expected at the end-September on the margins of the UN General Assembly.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh may explain on Wednesday evening the whole affairs including the LoC killings with Mr. Sharif, the reasons and consequences of his proposed meeting with Mr. Sharif.
Mr. Singh shall ensure to Opposition during his meeting that the talks with Pakistan shall depend on their seriousness and positive response.
The Prime Minister may like to clarify to the Opposition that though infiltration attempts have increased in the past, the incident and levels of violence have come down along the LoC as per PMO sources.
The PM is likely to ensure that talks shall only progress if Pakistan reciprocate in the right spirit and assure proper action as demanded by India.
