New Delhi: June 21, 2007 (Thursday) -  The situation has changed after President APJ Abdul Kalam agreed to the proposal of the Third Front to go for the second term if his return is sure. The most advantageous position in favor of Abdul Kalam is that CPI(M) has also agreed to discuss the proposal to get second term in office to President A P J Abdul Kalam. BJP too seem ready to reconsider for Kalam.
Telugu Desam party Chief N Chandrababu Naidu has confirmed here today that CPM is ready to discuss the matter and reconsider the issue of the Presidential candidate.
Talking to reporters after a 30-minute meeting with CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat and Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury, he said, "We have told them very clearly that the mood of the nation and will of the people was for a second term to Kalam. He said he will discuss it in the party."

In the same breath, Naidu said CPI (M) leaders felt it was very late but later agreed to discuss the proposal as per PTI.
Even Shekhawat.

BJP is ready to reconsider on the candidature of APJ Abdul Kalam as per the inner report of the  BJP as discussed among the top leaders of the party on phone.

At the same time the BJP  senior leaders feel that if Kalam does not come forward, in that case they will continue supporting Bhairon Singh BJP shall have no problem in supporting Kalam, since  BS Shekhawat has already made his mind clear that if  APJ Abdul Kalam comes forward for the second term, he shall withdraw his own candidature and support Kalam, and this has enhanced the chances of Kalam to enjoy the 2nd term in office.
