Indian Cricket let down India: December 9, 2012 – News n Analysis by Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist, on the issue of third class humiliation that India got from England at Eden. It is hard to believe, is it the same team that beat England in the Ist Test? Do Indian team and its Captain Dhoni not realize such degradation?
India got a successive voluntary embarrassing defeat on their home soil from England. I shall ask the cricket fans all over India, think over it, is it the same team that had defeated England in the first test with such a huge margin?
England has all chances to win the series, the experts say it shall be their first series win on Indian soil in 28 years since David Gower-led team had won a series 2-1 in the 1984-85.
England is now 2-1, would India be able to win the last match to equalize it? People doubt, is it a fixing or negligence or playing without seriousness or lacking high sense of performance?
England needed 41 runs to win the match after dismissing India for 247 in the second innings, they did not hesitate to lose three quick wickets to register their win with 7 wickets, it was their tactic?
Captain Alastair Cook (1), Jonathan Trott (3) and Kevin Pietersen (0) were out cheaply but Ian Bell (28 not out) led the team to the winning target at the Eden Gardens.
The fact remains that the Indian bowlers did not take three wickets in the second innings, England threw them to hasten their victory and they got it. There is practically no credit for three wickets to the Indian bowlers.
The two teams shall now face each other at Nagpur for the fourth and final cricket Test beginning December 13.
England need not win it, draw is enough for them to win the series. It is just like killing a lion in his own den.
The record shows that it is the first time that since 1999-2000, India lost two consecutive test matches at home.
Cricketers in India are highly paid, it looks from this series as if they don’t mind losing matches like this, they don’t have any consideration either for the country or their fans?
Shame to the whole team for losing two consecutive matches in such a humiliating manner; could the fans expect of them to realize what they have lost. I still hope they will try to win the next match to equalize and save the honor of the country.
