New Delhi, November 22, 2012 – News n Analysis by Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist, on the future function of Parliament, will the Opposition allow it to function smoothly?
The Winter Session of Parliament is to begin today during which a big drama by Opposition is anticipated, particularly on the issue of FDI retail.
Keeping in view the national interest related to the FDI success, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has sought for a cooperation of his colleagues in both the Houses to come together and address issues and challenges facing the nation.
So far the threat of the FDI is concerned, PM has simply reminded the Opposition of their promise that they would allow the Parliament to function efficiently and in a normal way without any obstruction and he expects that the Opposition would not raise the issue of the FDI which is in the interest of the nation.
On the contrary Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expects all of them to work together to take the nation forward without putting any hindrance. The country has many challenges ahead which all of them are to face and formulate collectively.
In this regard, even Mayawati has asked all BSP MPs not to join protest of FDI.
She said that the opposition would like to stall a big hurdle in the passage of the FDI Retail, she asked all MPs belonging to BSP not to join the protest.
She said: “You remain neutral. I will tell you later what stand is to be adopted on the FDI issue.”
This session of Parliament shall be full of controversial roar about the FDI Retail, it is not easy for the UPA Govt. to sail through, still the Govt. should not lose heart, they should stand to safeguard the national interest.
