Low price Celtab Android Tablet launched by Celkon

New tab on the block

With the hopes to bring a revolution in the field of tablets, the Hyderabad based mobile handset company Celkon Mobiles has stepped into the family of tablets by introducing a 7-inch Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system based tablet named Celtab. This tab comes with 1 GHzProcessor, 512 RAM and a USB port. As far as the connectivity option is concerned the tab offers both Wifi and SIM connectivity. The best part about the new tab is that it is priced at Rs. 7,499.

Celkon is trying to make its hold strong in the market by introducing low priced equipments. Earlier this year, the company also launched a tablet and two Android mobile phones each with 1 GHz processor. The first handset called Celkon A95 had a 3.2 inch screen and priced at Rs 5,299 while the second phone, Celkon A97 had a 4 inch screen and was priced at Rs 8,499. In addition, both the phones also offered interesting specifications. Based on operating system Android 2.3, the mobile phones were equipped with Mediatek chipsets. Both of phones also support 32 GB expandable memory, 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth.

It would be interesting to see that how other players will respond to this low price tablet. Will they do a counter attack by launching a low price tab as well or will they stick to their original strategy of providing high cost but durable tabs.
