Ganguly led the team as Captain
MIL/Agencies/IANS, Jan 31, 2007.

Vadodara, January 31, 2007 - Former captain Sourav Ganguly got to lead India for one over in the absence of captain Rahul Dravid and his deputy Sachin Tendulkar, who were both off the field due to injuries, in the fourth and final one-day match against the West Indies here on Wednesday.

It was after a gap of nearly 16 months that Ganguly -- who is one of the best captains in the history of Indian cricket -- got a chance to lead the pack after he was dropped unceremoniously and stripped of his captaincy after the tour of Zimbabwe in 2005.

It was during the 12th over of the match that Dravid had to leave the field after he pulled his hamstring. And in the absence of Tendulkar, it was Ganguly who lead the team as he was the senior most experienced member in the field as reported by IANS.

The cricket fans were happy when Ganguly took the command and they were confident that Ganguly could lead the team better and that proved.
