Dutt's representation to be heard on Thursday
MIL/Agencies/HT, Jan 18, 2007.

January 18, 2007 - Actor Sanjay Dutt's plea seeking more time to surrender will be heard by a TADA court on Thursday, as also his petition seeking temporary release on probation on a bond of good conduct.

Dutt has sought more time on humanitarian grounds saying he had to take decisions regarding his daughter Trishala's education. Trishala is presently in the city for a vacation.

The actor has also sought time to complete his pending film assignments. The court had earlier extended his bail to January 18, after which Dutt filed the plea.

Dutt has urged for release under Section 4 of the Probation of Offenders Act, under which the court can temporarily release him for good conduct for a period not exceeding three years and during this period it may call him and pronounce the sentence.

The actor has been held guilty on charges of possessing an AK-56 rifle and a 9 mm pistol under the provisions of Arms Act.
