Mumbai boy hits six sixes in one over

Mumbai, December 21, 2006 - City boy Shardul Thakur made headlines when he slammed six sixes in a single over for Swami Vivekanand school against S Radhakrishnan School in the Plate Division Harris Shield.
Thakur carted spinner Vishal Dhruv over the midwicket region six times in one over on his way to a score of 160 in 73 balls, which included 10 sixes and 20 fours, on the second day of the match on Wednesday.
This is a Mumbai school record for both juniors and seniors. But there have been two similar instances in first class cricket in the world.
Former West Indies skipper Garfield Sobers hit medium pacer Malcom Nash for six sixes in an over in English county cricket in late 1960s, while Ravi Shastri slammed Baroda's Tilak Raj in similar fashion in a Ranji Trophy league match at Mumbai's Wankhede stadium in the 1980's.
