Pakistan test fired another internmediate range ballistic missile, Ghauri Hatf V on Tuesday morning. But maintains India is not on its mind. A senior defence official said Pakistan was not sending “any wrong signal to India” by test-firing the missile at a time when the two nations are pursuing peace talks.
This was the fourth such test this year. An Inter Services Public Relations statement said that the missile has a range of nearly 1,500 kilometres and can carry nuclear and other warheads. The test validated all design parameters.
Indian officials expressed little reaction. External Affairs Ministry spokesman Navtej Sarna said, ''We were informed as per normal practice."
The Ghauri missile is produced by Pakistan's main weapons facility, Khan Research Laboratories.
