Mumbai – Bollywood star Navin Nischol's wife Geetanjali committed suicide by hanging herself on Sunday night and before her death she left a note holding her husband responsible for forcing her to commit suicide.

The suicide note, written neatly in English on a piece of paper was found in her bedroom, states: "Navin, an alcoholic, is useless and is torturing me and that is why I am ending my life."

It is revealed that there was some property dispute, which had become the bone of contention between the two. Navin Nischol has remained silent on the issue after the incident, it looks that he has been greatly shocked to know about his wife’s death and a suicide note against him.

As per sources in anonymity, inspite of differences between the couple, Navin had lot of love for her wife. However, the police is investigating into the real cause that forced Geetanjali to commit suicide.

The police is also probing whether a property dispute between the Nischols and Navin's brother had led to her death.

In February, Geetanjali had told TOI that Navin's younger brother Praveen had thrown her out of their Mahim house and she also blamed her husband for keeping silent, and did not object when she was thrown out of the house.

She alleged that Navin financed the flat when he was well off and his demand was at the peak during 80's. Navin had purchased the flat and made the entire payment of the flat but it was registered on the name of Praveen as a matter of trust. Praveen denied that Navin bought the flat out of his funds.

Police sub inspector told , "We received information that a woman had committed suicide at Laxman Nivas. We rushed to the spot to find Geetanjali hanging from the ceiling fan."Because of their differences, Navin used to stay separately in Pune and used to visit her sometimes.

Geetanjali had no child, she stayed in this flat with two servants. These servants told the police that they assumed Geetanjali was sleeping in the bedroom and were not aware of when she might have committed suicide. At that time, Navin was away to Poona and arrived in Mumbai on Sunday morning.

The facts are under investigation and the suicide may reveal something sensational. Navin loved her wife, even though he stayed away from her due to her provocative nature on petty matters, which he always ignored. Still he used to meet her off and on and not regularly since she did not like Navin to stay with her.
