The Taj Mahal, India's most famous monument started its 350th anniversary celebration on Monday.

It got off to a low-key start on Monday with festivities limited to avoid marring the
17th-century building.

The local tourism office placed garlands around the neck of the visitors of Agra,
where the celebrations took off.
