Govt. clears Chandrayaan-II to orbit by 2011-12 MIL/Agencies/IRSO, Nov 18, 2008
Coimbatore, November 18, 2008 – IR Summary/Agencies/ISRO – Keeping the grand success of India's maiden lunar probe which is circling the moon, the Govt. of India has approved Chandrayaan-II, to be fully indigenous, to orbit by 20011-12, and to accomplish the project have allocated necessary funds to go ahead, ISRO has already started its research work in this direction to complete the Project on time, Chandrayaan-I Project Director Mylswamy Annadurai revealed the information. |

New Delhi: India , November 8, 2008 - IR Summary/ISRO/domain-b - India has to pass through a critical test of maneuvering to inject its lunar probe, Chandrayaan-1, into a circumpolar orbit around the moon. If successful, the maneuver, referred to as the Lunar Orbit of Injection, will either unshackle Chandrayaan from the earth's gravitational pull forever and make it a lunar satellite - as it is meant to - or send it crashing towards the moon or the earth, or on a trajectory leading into deep space. |

Chandrayaan -1 taking probe fired to a specific elliptical orbit MIL/ISRO, Oct 30, 2008
October 30, 2008, IR Summary /ISRO - The Chandrayaan-1 probe has moved a step towards the lunar range yesterday with its fourth orbit raising maneuver extending it more than half way to the Moon. As per ISRO, the engine onboard the craft was fired for about three minutes taking the probe into a desired elliptical orbit, which is about 267,000 km from the Earth at its farthest point (apogee) and 465 km at its nearest point, enabling it to orbit to take around 144 hours to revolve around the Earth. |
