New Delhi: It is not surprising that India stands 55 of the world's most corrupt countries, with the global graft watchdog Transparency International (TI) ranking it a lowly 90 in its Corruption Perception Index for 2004. The most important aspect of this corruption is that it costs the Indian taxpayer a massive 7000 million dollars.
