October 5, 2007 – The scientists till recently held a firm opinion that the oxygen on the atmosphere of the Earth developed around 3-4 billion years in a period called the "Great Oxidation Event" but the latest research has changed the period of oxygen on the Earth. The new research from a region of Western Australia called Hamersley Basin, has revealed that the oxygen had existed on the Earth much more than 100 million years before the earlier assumed period.
